THE AUSTRALIAN CATTLE DOG
AKA: Blue Heeler (Red Heeler)

American Kennel Club - Australian Cattle Dog

PLEASE NOTE: THE TRUE CATTLE WORKING AUSTRALIAN CATTLE DOG, THE AKC REGISTERED AUSTRALIAN CATTLE DOG,
WILL NEVER HAVE A DOCKED TAIL.

That silly fallacy happened when people mistook the Australian Cattle Dog (originating in Australia) with

the Australian Shepherd, which originated in the United States. The Australian Shepherd has a natural bob tail.

THE AUSTRALIAN CATTLE DOG uses the tail as a rudder while working, for balance. It also is a key signal
that reflects the dog's attention and intention.

Below are two of our most beloved and valuable working, guard, and companion dogs. They are now deceased, but we will always honor them.

HESA  HAPPY COWBOY, 'Cowboy', AKC

Pictured intent on cattle he was penning, and sending a cow to the pen.

TIDWELLS MISS MILSAP, 'Millie', AKC
